Wide steel coils are fed into the high-precision slitting machine to produce narrow strips with clean, burr-free edges. Consistent strip width is essential to achieving an accurate powder fill factor.
The slit strip passes through an inline ultrasonic cleaning bath. This removes rolling oils and surface contaminants, eliminating potential carbon or hydrogen sources that could compromise the low alloy weld deposit.
Our micro-alloying and fluxing powders are mixed in the flux powder mixing machine. Precise blending prevents separation, ensuring consistent distribution of alloying elements along the wire core.
The cleaned strip is shaped into a U-profile, filled with the mixed flux powder, and closed into an overlap or butt-seam configuration. This process uses advanced CNC profiling rollers to prevent powder spillage.
The formed wire is drawn through straight-line drawing blocks to its final target diameter (such as 1.2mm or 1.6mm). Optimized reduction steps prevent tensile failure of the wire profile during drawing.
The finished wire is wound onto plastic or wire spools using our high-precision layer rewinder, or packed into barrels via our drum and pail packaging machines to preserve quality.
